Documentary Work

Trevor worked on a documentary about the Maui wildfires of 2023 as a capstone project during his final semester as an undergraduate. He worked with a team of three other students and spent five days on Maui under the direction of two professional staff mentors. The documentary, titled "Hope for Lahaina: Witnesses of the Maui Wildfires" was selected to screen at the 2024 Zions Indie Film Fest.

Trevor and the other students worked on the documentary from start to finish — reaching out to contacts, scheduling and conducting interviews, shooting b-roll, creating and cutting the script and editing. The documentary premiere took place on BYU campus and featured a panel with fire survivors.

Trailer — "Hope for Lahaina: Witnesses of the Maui Wildfires"

Trevor and his team crafted a script and general storyline for the trailer. Trevor selected the music and worked on several iterations of the trailer (including cutting it down to a 30-second version for social). The trailer was used to promote the documentary and was published online and in several university newsletters.
